Armony Marival Resort & Spa Punta de Mita has opened on Mexico’s Pacific coast, marking the debut of Accor’s luxury MGallery Collection brand in the country.

The resort has 212 guestrooms and 56 suites, six dining venues, five pools, a spa, and direct access to the beach. It is situated on Punta de Mita, a 1,500-acre peninsula on the north end of Banderas Bay in the state of Nayarit.

Armony Marival’s biophilic architecture reflects its location. Created in collaboration with local artisans, the region’s unique ecosystem is integrated into the property’s design. From the palapa that covers the entrance, to the steady column of water that gently flows through the lobby, the line between the interior and exterior is blurred. Unique trees and plants line its pathways. Local wildlife calls the resort home. Unique furnishings, such as woven wicker hammocks, are hand-crafted by local artisans from the land’s natural materials.

On the food and beverage front, Mexican and international culinary traditions are celebrated at the resort’s dining destinations. Divum Restaurant focuses on zero-kilometer ingredients, showcasing produce from the onsite garden and other local sources. Essence Restaurant rotates between Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine. La Brise offers a breakfast buffet in a space overlooking the ocean, and Drops Bar, located at the resort’s infinity pool, serves cocktails crafted with local ingredients.

The traditions of the Huichol, the region’s indigenous people, are also seen in the offerings of Armony Marival’s Mélange Spa. A signature treatment at the spa, which has seven spacious treatment rooms, is the Pacific Ceremony. This energy cleansing ritual is performed by a Huichol shaman to promote wellbeing and relaxation.

Other wellness experiences at the resort include yoga sessions, sound healing, hiking adventures to nearby natural landmarks, and a Digital Detox Challenge, which encourages guests to step away from technology and immerse themselves in nature.

Like all MGallery properties, Armony Marival is committed to making a positive impact on the local community and has formed internal and external partnerships with established NGOs. These include Pietro Rizzuto Foundation which provides healthcare and rehabilitation to those without access due to housing, economic or social conditions, and Fundación de Corazón de Niña, which is a non-profit organization offering educational program to orphaned and disadvantaged children and young people.

In addition, the resort’s M Moment – a unique, exclusive experience inspired by the hotel’s story and local knowledge –  is a special Zarandeado Ceremony. This is a renowned 500-year old tradition, whereby fish is grilled over hot coals in a wood-fired oven. Guests are invited to discover local fishing experiences in Cruz de Huanacaxtle, followed by visiting Cercado del Mar with the hotel chef to choose the fish of the day and finally, watch as it is expertly prepared through traditional Zarandeodo. The evening concludes with a stargazing experience guided by an astronomer.
