Cape Grace, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, reopened this month following a nine-month transformation helmed by interior and architecture firm, 1508 London.
Located on Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, the property offers 112 rooms and suites, the new Fairmont Spa at Cape Grace, and a new signature restaurant.
1508 London’s redesign of the property was inspired by South Africa’s heritage, culture and artistry. Highlights include the use of materials specifically selected to create a contemporary, understated look that harmonizes with the city and its natural surroundings, and curated selection of artwork from local artists displayed throughout the hotel.
Cape Grace’s accommodations feature large French windows or balconies looking onto the Marina or Table Mountain. The stand-out suite is the two-bedroom Cape Grace Suite, which features an expansive terrace with panoramic views of Table Mountain, and a lounge and dining area with a private bar and butler’s pantry.
The culinary vision of the property’s new restaurant, Heirloom, was guided by Cape Town chef Gregory Czarnecki. It offers elevated South African-inspired cuisine, highlighted by an eight-course Tasting Menu using locally-sourced ingredients.
Cape Grace’s new dining experiences also include a Pool Bar, a Library Lounge serving traditional tea in the afternoons and drinks in the evening, and the Bascule Bar & Lounge, which is renowned for its extensive whisky collection, exclusive wine cellar and expertly crafted cocktails.
The new Fairmont Spa at Cape Grace features treatments inspired by local natural elements including tailored bath rituals, jet lag recovery, detox massages, a salt room experience, guided meditation and curated packages to help guests relax.
Cape Grace, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, joins the Fairmont portfolio of 88 hotels, including The Plaza in New York City, The Savoy in London, Fairmont San Francisco, Fairmont Banff Springs in Canada, Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, and Fairmont The Palm in Dubai.
