Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch expects to unveil its $115 million USD property-wide renovation and rebrand to Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort in early October 2024, marking the first Grand Hyatt hotel in Arizona.

The newly reimagined resort will feature six elevated dining experiences in partnership with celebrity chef Richard Blais, expanded pool and cabana offerings, a refreshed Spa Avania, expanded group meeting space capabilities, and more.

“Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort will stand out in the region for its rich amenities, captivating design, incredible new ballroom space and delectable culinary offerings,” said Lance Marrin, general manager, Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch. “We are creating a destination that will not only reflect the region’s rich heritage but will also provide our guests with an immersive, elevated experience that connects them to the illuminating essence of the Sonoran Desert. ”

Refined guestrooms, suites and casitas

The resort’s design is being executed by international architectural firm, WATG, and Phoenix-based firm, Hale Collective. The property’s completely-renovated 496 accommodations are expected to be ready in early October. This includes the resort’s 18 luxury Casitas, and the ultra-luxe, two-story Gainey House, which features a private entrance and driveway, private patio and barbeque, and pool views.

Every guestroom on property features a multi-purpose living space, a spa-inspired bathroom, and a private balcony or patio. The resort’s casitas offer separate living spaces for entertaining and gathering. They are also equipped with a kitchenette and dual bathrooms with views of the resort’s pool and surrounding golf course.

Imaginative dining concepts

Come October, the resort will debut four new food and beverage concepts – La Zozzona (Modern Italian Chophouse), Tiki Taka (global small plates), Mesa Centrale (Southwestern grill), and Grand Vista Lounge (lobby bar). The property has already introduced two new poolside concepts – Sandbar and H2Oasis. The restaurants are spearheaded by James Beard nominated cookbook author, Chef Richard Blais.

Elevated poolside experience

Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort will offer an upgraded 10-acre destination pool complex and expanded cabanas. The 2.5-acre outdoor oasis features 10 unique swimming pools and a pristine sand beach. At the heart of the complex stands a three-storey, high-speed waterslide. Other amenities include a whirlpool spa and a beachside putting green.

Destination-inspired wellness offerings

In early September, the refreshed Spa Avania will introduce a revolutionary wellness experience with treatments aligned with the body’s natural daily rhythms from morning awakening to evening unwinding. This holistic approach combines personalized treatments, mineral water therapy, synchronized music, and tailored nutrition to create an immersive experience respecting the body’s changing needs. New treatments include Cryo Sculpt Facials, Desert Essence Wraps, CBD Trigger Point Therapy Massage and more. The spa has 19 treatment rooms, including garden and couple-friendly options, a Himalayan Salt Room, state-of-the-art exercise facilities and various therapeutic amenities.

Outdoor experiences

Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort will offers  winding jogging paths through native flora, scenic bicycle trails that showcase the desert’s beauty, and complimentary bikes. Additional recreation activities include 27 holes of championship golf at the adjacent Gainey Ranch Golf Club. The resort also has two lighted tennis courts and eight pickleball courts.

Gatherings in a brand-new Arizona Ballroom

In October, the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort will unveil its fully renovated existing meeting space that includes a revitalization of the 14,000 square foot Vaquero Ballroom, as well as the remaining 52,000 square feet of existing indoor/outdoor function space. The resort’s Arizona Ballroom is set to debut in January 2025. Upon completion, it will have nearly tripled in size to 24,000 square feet. In total, the expanded Arizona Ballroom will join the completely renovated meeting and event spaces to house a total of 90,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor function space, including 35,000 square feet of outdoor space and an additional 10,000 square feet of pre-function space. Groups can take advantage of 48 meeting rooms, onsite AV support, and high-speed internet.
