Grenada will be easier for Canadians to get to this winter thanks to a doubling of Air Canada’s seasonal service to the island in the eastern Caribbean.
Beginning October 29th, the carrier will offer four weekly flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND).
The Air Canada nonstop flights will operate on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing at 9:30 a.m. from Toronto Pearson and arriving in Grenada at 3:55 p.m. The Grenada-Toronto leg will depart at 4:55 p.m. and arrive in Toronto at 9:55 p.m. The service will be operated on a Boeing 737 Max 8 with 16 business class seats and 153 economy seats.
“We are pleased to be able to offer more connections between Grenada and Toronto with up to four flights per week,” said Nino Montagnese, vice-president, Air Canada Vacations. “This enhanced schedule will allow Canadian travelers to experience the unspoiled natural gems and crystalline waters of Grenada.”
“The return of direct service by Air Canada to Grenada is a positive development for air transport relations between the airline and our country,” said Hon. Consul General Dawne Francois.
Grenada will also welcome two new luxury hotels in Q4 2023.
The opening of Six Senses at La Sagesse will mark the resort brand’s debut in the Caribbean. Located on the southeastern part of the island, the property is designed in the style of a Caribbean village and is spread over 38 acres. It will offer 56 guestrooms, seven one-bedroom villas and five two-bedroom villas.
In addition, Silversands Grenada Resorts will be adding 28 keys to its portfolio with the opening of a new luxury boutique hotel, Beach House by Silversands Grenada. Nestled behind and atop a cliff on Portici Beach, it will feature both standalone one-bedroom villas and two two-bedroom suites, either cliffside or beachfront.
Grenada is part of a tri-island destination that also includes Carriacou and Petite Martinique. It offers 40 white sand beaches including the world-famous Grand Anse Beach, 15 waterfalls, seven chocolate factories, four rum distilleries, and more than 30 dive sites, including the largest shipwreck in the Caribbean (Bianca C) and the World’s First Underwater Sculpture Park.
