InterContinental property planned for Australia wine region

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Strategic Alliance are partnering to bring a luxury hotel property to South Australia’s Barossa wine region.

Subject to planning approval, InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa is scheduled to open in 2028 with 150 guestrooms.

The InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa will be located in a prime location in the heart of the Barossa, which is one of Australia’s top tourist destinations. When complete, the hotel will feature a selection of dining options, including a 130-seat signature restaurant showcasing Australia’s finest flavors and culinary experiences. It will also have a lounge bar, outdoor garden terrace, signature Club InterContinental, a pool, a comprehensive day spa, a well-equipped fitness center, and extensive conference and meeting spaces.

InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa adds to IHG’s fast-growing Luxury & Lifestyle (L&L) portfolio and reinforces its focus on growing its presence in the region. In the Australasia Pacific L&L segment IHG has 22 open hotels and 9 in its pipeline.
