International events are getting a helping hand from Thailand’s MICE community.
The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has partnered with 54 hotels and eight destination management companies (DMCs) on a new program to attract and assist international meetings and incentives.
The “Ease Up” program was created for meeting and incentive planners in anticipation of the recovery of international travel and international events. It will be introduced tomorrow by Nichapa Yoswee, senior vice-president, Business, TCEB, at the virtual trade show, ITCM China 2020—the first virtual trade show TCEB has taken part in.
The program is part of a new, larger TCEB initiative called I M People Focused (Incentives Meetings People Focused). The bureau held extended, in-depth dialogues with its partners to craft the program, which includes a generous financial grant, free airport transfers, free sightseeing and free hotel rooms.
Under “Ease Up,” TCEB has allocated $500,000 USD so that organizers can more effectively help their clients lower the cost of incentive travel and meetings. Its partner hotels and DMCs have created high-value group packages for the campaign.
The eight participating DMCs are offering complimentary airport transfers and a choice of local sightseeing, teambuilding or CSR activities. Fifty-four hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Khao Yai, Rayong, Koh Samui, Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi, Pattaya and Hua Hin will reward organizers with complimentary guestrooms. TCEB notes that terms and conditions apply for all “Ease Up” grants.
