Meliá Lloret de Mar is the latest addition to Meliá Hotels International’s offerings on Spain’s Costa Brava.

The five-star property, which has undergone a comprehensive renovation, joins the hospitality company’s Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand.

Formerly known as Gran Hotel Monterrey, the property has been transformed through a strategic partnership between Meliá Hotels International and Okami Hotels, the hotel’s asset manager.

The new Meliá Lloret de Mar is surrounded by lush gardens and pools, and enjoys a primate location adjacent to the town’s Casino and Municipal Theater, steps away from the beachfront.

The hotel offers 200 elegant Mediterranean-inspired rooms, stocked with fine amenities such as Rituals bath products, rain showers, and Chromecast. It also offers The Level, Meliá Hotels & Resorts’ most sophisticated service, which features premium accommodations, personalized service, late check-out (subject to availability), and access to exclusive areas such as The Level Lounge.

Highlights of the Meliá Lloret de Mar include:

  • a spa sanctuary with hydrotherapy pool, sauna, jacuzzi, Turkish bath, and an array of treatments;
  • state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with Technogym’s latest innovations;
  • The Kidsdom, a dedicated space for children’s entertainment and educational activities;
  • three distinct restaurants (Mosaico, offering a buffet of traditional Mediterranean fare; Gaia, specializing in seafood and rice dishes; and Freu, which is set to open later this month).

The hotel also has 11 function rooms for meetings and events as well as over 50,000 square meters of landscaped gardens.

Lloret de Mar is a Mediterranean coastal town in Catalonia, Spain, 75 kilometers northeast of Barcelona. In addition to its beaches, it is known as a bastion of historical and cultural significance. Iconic landmarks include the medieval hilltop Castle of San Joan to the east; the central Iglesia de Sant Romá which provides examples of Catalan Gothic and modernist architecture; and the Italian Renaissance-style Santa Clotilde Gardens.
