Marriott Hotels, the signature flag of Marriot Bonvoy’s portfolio of more than 30 brands, entered the all-inclusive resort market with the grand opening of Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort on July 30th.

The resort features 450 newly redesigned guestrooms, including 124 premium ocean view rooms and 38 suites with balconies overlooking the water. It also has two luxurious Presidential Suites, each with a large balcony overlooking Cancun’s beaches to the east and a terrace with views of the Nichupte Lagoon and its sunsets to the west. Each room showcases contemporary decor, well-appointed bathrooms, and daily replenished mini bars.

Marriott Cancun also has thirteen diverse drink and dining venues. Options include the Greatroom Lobby Bar (creative cocktails in a room at the heart of the resort), Hana Polynesian Grill, Sacbé Beach Shack (Tulum-inspired cuisine), and Alice’s Tamale Ritual, a mobile food cart making rounds throughout the resort.

Event planners will be pleased to discover the resort’s nearly 24, 813 square feet of renovated event space, which includes four event rooms – one of which can accommodate up to 800 guests – and 12 breakout rooms.

Other highlights of Marriott Cancun are:

  • an expansive water park, featuring water slides, a relaxing lazy river, and multiple pools, including exclusive adults-only areas;
  • state-of-the-art fitness center;
  • a sports bar, which is also home to an arcade area;
  • The Workshop (opening Fall 2024), which will connect guests to the local culture through art lessons, craft workshops, and more;
  • and a 5,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor Camp Club by Marriott, which will keep kids engaged all-day long with a wide variety of activities including a dedicated area for ziplining, wall climbing and more.

“Marriott Hotels’ new all-inclusive experience is designed to empower and inspire guests of all ages to connect in meaningful ways,” said Drew Iddings, vice-president, Premium Classic Brands. “It’s about more than just a vacation – it’s about creating unforgettable memories where relaxation, care, and curiosity converge.
