The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) have signed a landmark memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on supporting their shared members in the global meetings industry. The partnership aims to promote sustainable and innovative practices, create joint business development and networking opportunities, and develop shared educational resources. The collaboration will also explore opportunities for expanding membership and licensing across both organizations’ global networks.

ICCA recognizes the increasing importance of cross-sector collaboration in advancing the goals of the global meetings industry. For years, it has championed strategic partnerships that connect business events with broader economic and trade ecosystems. This new collaboration with WTCA reflects ICCA’s longstanding commitment to fostering innovation, knowledge exchange, and sustainable growth.

By aligning with an organization that shares its global vision and values, ICCA continues to pave the way for integrated solutions that benefit members, communities, and the business events industry as a whole.

ICCA CEO Dr. Senthil Gopinath expressed enthusiasm for the MOU, stating: “Our partnership with WTCA is an exciting strategic development that will not only benefit all of our members, but will advance our shared goals of creating global connections and opportunity for businesses and organizations around the world. We’re looking forward to collaborating and sharing resources with WTCA’s international network and working toward collectively advancing ICCA’s mission for mutually beneficial gains.”

The partnership between ICCA and WTCA combines both organizations’ global expertise and resources to foster greater collaboration in the global meetings industry. The agreement strengthens their networks and creates shared opportunities, driving innovation, sustainability, and business growth.

WTCA executive director of Business Development Mr. Robin van Puyenbroeck said: “Partnering with ICCA enables us to create greater impact and new opportunities for our respective members. By aligning our global networks, we’re strengthening our ability to promote trade rooted in collaboration and shared growth.”
