Pendry Natirar, a 500-acre estate in New Jersey’s Somerset County, is now open.

Located 45-minutes outside of Manhattan, New York, the luxury resort is centered around a restored 1912 Tudor-style mansion and features an adjacent 66 guestrooms including 20 suites. Amenities at the resort include a signature farm-to-table restaurant and cooking school; a spa and fitness center; on-site 10-acre farm; 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space; and The Natirar Club, an exclusive modern members club. Pendry Natirar will also feature 24 Pendry Residences offering both Estate and Farm Villa Residences.

“Pendry Natirar’s rich heritage combined with the natural beauty of Somerset County make this an incredibly exciting opening,” said Alan J. Fuerstman, founder, chairman and CEO of Montage International. “Having grown up in New Jersey, I’ve always held a deep appreciation for the state’s unique blend of history, natural beauty and the charming countryside. I am delighted to introduce Pendry’s unique brand of hospitality to this remarkable destination.”

Designed by CosciaMoos Architecture with interiors by DesignAgency, Pendry Natirar draws inspiration from the picturesque estate and the traditions and styles of old world England’s grand country manor homes, reinterpreted with a modern sensibility. DesignAgency captured the Tudor mansion’s historic charm by first preserving and restoring its original limestone foyer, stone fireplaces, ornate plaster ceilings, warm wood paneling, and oak flooring. New layers of richly textured materials, contemporary furniture, art, lighting, and elegant finishes create a design that respects the building’s heritage while signaling a new era of contemporary luxury.

Culinary offerings at Pendry Natirar include:

  • Ninety Acres, the property’s signature fine dining restaurant, serving chef-driven menus;
  • Ladd’s Tavern, a culinary center point adjacent to the Great Room featuring cocktails, light bites and afternoon tea;
  • The Cooking School, where guests can immerse themselves in the resort’s farm-inspired lifestyle with hands-on cooking classes using fresh farm ingredients and locally sourced products;
  • The Farm at Natirar, a working farm that provides fresh produce and ingredients for the restaurants, which also offers guests immersive experiences such as learning about sustainable farming practices and participating in educational activities like farm tours, bee tours and honey tastings through The Farm at Natirar Apiary.

Pendry Natirar is also home to Spa Pendry. Spanning two floors, the 19,000-square-foot spa has a tranquility lounge with indoor plunge pool, Himalayan salt room and 12 treatment rooms, many of which that have private terraces overlooking the countryside.

The resort also makes the most of its 500 acres of preserved park land and the nearby Raritan River through Compass Sports, its signature outdoor adventure outfitter. Outdoor pursuits include guided e-bike tours, archery and axe throwing, riverside nature hikes, guided horseback trail rides at nearby stables, and fly-fishing in one of the others many waterway.

“Arriving at Pendry Natirar is magical,” said Michael Fuerstman, co-founder of Pendry Hotels & Resorts. “You are instantly transported to another world, a country estate setting, full of adventure and charm. It is the perfect place to make lifelong memories with family and loved ones. We look forward to our guests experiencing this special destination and welcoming the local community to the next chapter of Natirar.”

“Natirar was built more than a century ago as a place for families to come together and connect,” said Bob Wojtowicz, developer and founder of Natirar. “And while it has served a variety of purposes over the decades, our vision was always to bring it back to its original intent and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Pendry Hotels & Resorts to bring the resort to life.”
