This week Hilton announced the opening of two hotels – DUO Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton Lagoa Azores – as the company expands its portfolio in Portugal.

DUO Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton

Situated in the vibrant Cais do Sodré neighborhood of the Portuguese capital, DUO Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton combines two distinct architectural styles – a traditional nineteenth-century building and a more modern construction interconnected by a courtyard. It offers 75 well-appointed rooms, each with views of the Tagus River and the houses typical of the city. Guestrooms are finished with locally-inspired decor, including tiled headboards hand-painted in the Viúva Lamego factory. Culinary experiences at the property include Novo Mundo, the onsite restaurant serving traditional Portuguese cuisine with a modern twist, and a pastry shop called The Voyage. Other amenities include a stylish bar and an urban courtyard that is perfect for private events.

DoubleTree by Hilton Lagoa Azores

Set on the island of São Miguel in the Azores, DoubleTree by Hilton Lagoa Azores overlooks the ocean. A 10-minute drive from the city of Ponta Delgada, the 101-key property is close to a number of key sights, including the Gorreana Tea Factory, Lagoa das Sete Cidades, and Lagoa do Fogo. Amenities at the property include a restaurant and bar, a rooftop bar, pool and a wellness space. The Frondoso Restaurant & Bar serves a variety of dishes made with local products. Helmed by Chef João Fevereiro, it has one of the largest selections of wine on the island. The Mistico Rooftop Bar & Pool is a casual space where guests can relax and try natural juices and craft cocktails made with local ingredients. The Inala Wellness Space features an indoor pool, a Turkish bath, sauna and two treatment rooms.
