Meliá Hotels International has announced the expansion of its INNSiDE by Meliá brand in the Dominican Republic.
Two new-build projects – INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown and INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay – are being developed by Spain’s Vivantia Homes. Expected to open in 2027, both properties are located just a few kilometers from Punta Cana International Airport. They will be Meliá’s first franchised hotels in the Caribbean, marking a significant milestone in the group’s regional expansion.
“Our objective is to strengthen our leadership position in the Caribbean by providing a diverse and customized hotel offering tailored for the new generation of travelers,” said Gabriel Escarrer, chairman and CEO, Meliá Hotels International. “We believe that INNSiDE by Meliá will be an excellent addition to our existing portfolio in the Dominican Republic, which is a key strategic location for our group in the Caribbean.”
The 290-key INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown will be located in the urban and central core of Punta Cana, offering proximity to various commercial areas, day and night entertainment options, and residential projects within a secure and family-friendly environment.
INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay, which will have 186 rooms, will be positioned on Arena Gorda Beach, one of the largest beaches in Punta Cana. This location is characterized by its palm trees, lush vegetation, and turquoise blue waters, and is highly popular for water sports.
Both hotels will offer a diverse range of dining options, including a restaurant, cafeteria, and grab & go service. They will also provide a wellness area, meeting rooms with an inspiring design, a swimming pool, gym, and cinema.
Nature enthusiasts can visit the Ojos Indígenas Ecological Park, a private reserve featuring trails leading to freshwater lagoons. Additionally, the region boasts several sites of cultural and historical significance, such as Altos de Chavón, an architectural replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village, and Saona Island, which is part of the Parque Nacional del Este and known for its exceptional natural beauty.
