New Zealand’s Robertson Lodges joining Rosewood portfolio

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® is entering the New Zealand market with the addition of Robertson Lodges to its portfolio.

As of December 1, 2023, the three iconic lodges will join Rosewood as Rosewood Kauri Cliffs, Rosewood Cape Kidnappers and Rosewood Matakauri.

Founded by philanthropists Julian and Josie Robertson in 2001, Robertson Lodges have earned a reputation as some of New Zealand’s top accommodations

Rosewood Kauri Cliffs

Located within a 6,000-acre coastal estate near the Bay of Islands on New Zealand’s North Island, Rosewood Kauri Cliffs (shown top of post) is home to 26 rooms and suites, a restaurant, fitness center and spa. The resort’s grounds provide access to three private beaches, a sheep and cattle farm, a peaceful native forest and Kauri Cliffs championship 18-hole golf course. Activities available in the area, include fishing, swimming, heritage tours, sailing the Bay of Islands, and miles of walking trails.

Rosewood Cape Kidnappers

This 24-room property is located in Hawke’s Bay on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island, a region known for its wineries, thriving food scene, and the Art Deco architecture of the nearby city of Napier. Perched above rolling hills and rugged cliffs, it is home to a golf course designed by Tom Doak, and the largest privately-funded wildlife restoration project in the country, the Cape Sanctuary. The property is known for its destination experiences such as farm tours, nature walks, and golfing. Additional on-site amenities include a restaurant and spa treatment rooms with an infinity pool.

Rosewood Matakauri

Located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu on New Zealand’s South Island, Rosewood Matakauri is surrounded by what are considered Queenstown’s big three peaks – The Remarkables, Cecil, and Walter Peak. Offering 13 rooms in four accommodation categories (Owner’s Cottage, Deluxe Suite, Suite and Lodge Room), the lodge also has an on-site restaurant, a spa with two treatment rooms, sauna, hot tub and heated swimming pool. Guests can enjoy the full spectrum of experiences available in the Queenstown area: snow sports in the winter, and hiking, wine touring, and art experiences throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
