Six Senses has signed agreements with Gruppo Statuto to manage properties in Milan and Lake Como, building the brand’s presence in Italy.

Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como will open in 2025 and 2028 respectively. They will join Six Senses Rome, which opened in 2023 in the restored Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini, and Six Senses Antognolla in Umbria, opening in 2026.

“Italy moves you like nowhere else. In few places do art, architecture, gastronomy, and the joy of living intertwine so effortlessly. Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como both speak to a purpose,” said Neil Jacobs, CEO, Six Senses . “The first is intentionally sized and designed for attentive hospitality and holistic wellness within one of Europe’s most dynamic fashion capitals. The second is a serene escape within the most beautiful lakeside gardens just 90 minutes away.”

These two latest Italian signings also establish Gruppo Statuto as the leading Italian real estate group with a portfolio of international hotels, having acquired Six Senses London and Six Senses Ibiza in addition to Six Senses Rome.

Six Senses Milan enjoys a prime address at Via Brera 19 in the heart of the city’s artistic Brera quarter. It will offer 53 guestrooms and 15 suites, two of which feature plunge pools. The property will also have a state-of-the-art spa as well as a rooftop bar and sky pool. The brand’s dedication to sustainability will be evidenced by the materials and furnishings used throughout the property, a tranquil internal courtyard, and a specialty restaurant and deli serving seasonal gastronomy.

Six Senses Lake Como will continue the legacy of the first hospitality destination opened on the shores of Lake Como in 1820 in Cadenabbia di Griante, an area that inspired poets such as Wordsworth, Shelley and Byron and was a holiday spot for royalty and celebrities.

Following a full restoration of the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia on the lake’s western shores, Six Senses Lake Como will offer 102 generously-sized rooms and suites as well as more space dedicated to the spa and wellness area. The outdoor pool and sun deck will be complemented by a floating pool on the lake. Along with a specialty restaurant, there will be a terrace bar and restaurant with lake views on the fourth floor.

IHG more than doubled its Luxury & Lifestyle offering in Italy in 2023, which also saw the return of the InterContinental brand with the opening of InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace. Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como join 30 open hotels in the country, and an additional eight in development, including brand debuts for the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and Vignette Collection brands.
