A Six Senses brand hospitality and residential experience is slated to open in 2028 in Telluride, Colorado.
Comprised of a LEED Silver certified, 77-key resort and 24 branded residences, Six Senses Telluride will be IHG Hotels & Resorts‘ first luxury resort and residences in North America’s Mountain West region.
Located in the Colorado Rockies, Telluride is a designated National Historic Landmark District. Today, the former mining town is a popular ski destination and arts community that hosts world-renowned film, jazz, and blues festivals.
Six Senses Telluride will be situated above the town in Mountain Village, tucked into a box canyon flanked by the rugged 14,000-foot peaks of the San Juan Mountains.
Neil Jacobs, CEO, Six Senses, said, “Becoming an active part of the community is hugely important to us and so where better to begin our North American mountain adventure than Telluride, with the global sophistication of Mountain Village and eclectic old-world nature of the town below. Having lived in the Colorado Rockies in the 1980s, I can attest to the mountain environment lending itself to the expression of our values around wellness and sustainable development today.”
The development team, led by Matthew Shear and David Jaskel at The Vault Home Collection, has been working closely with Six Senses on the property, which like all of the brand’s properties, will have sustainability at the forefront of its operations.
Commenting on the partnership, Shear said, “We are delighted to be joining forces with Six Senses. The spectacular Colorado landscape, sublime snow conditions, and quaint community-feel of Mountain Village inspired us to lay roots here. This project is the culmination of our ongoing collaboration with Six Senses to open this premier mountain destination to the world’s most discerning travelers and residents. Our shared vision is to ensure Six Senses Telluride is nothing short of spectacular.”
Six Senses Telluride is expected to offer:
- guestrooms, family rooms and suites decorated with natural materials (cedar siding, local stone, etc.) and featuring a warm, light palette designed by Rose Ink Workshop;
- multiple food and beverage spaces, including a specialty restaurant, Omakase dining, the only rooftop venue with pool in Telluride, and a speakeasy bar;
- a retail market hall;
- conference space;
- extensive ski concierge services;
- and 24 two- to five-bedroom branded residences.
In keeping with the brand’s wellness ethos, Six Senses Spa Telluride will feature a sauna, steam room, hammam, cryotherapy bath, and single and double treatment rooms.
Six Senses Telluride is a 387-mile drive from Denver International Airport, 68-mile drive from Montrose Airport, and seven-mile drive from Telluride International Airport. A free, eight-mile pedestrian gondola connects Mountain Village to the historic town in a 13-minute ride, while also providing ski access.
