W Prague is now open, marking the Marriott Bonvoy brand’s entry into the Czech Republic and the start of a new chapter for the former Grand Hotel Evropa, a renowned Art Nouveau-style property.

Located on Wenceslas Square,  the revitalized property offers 161 guestrooms and suites, including the WOW Bohemia Duplex, the signature W Lounge and the Above Rooftop bar.

“As we debut W Prague, we’re not just opening a new hotel – we are breathing new life into one of the city’s most iconic landmarks,” said George Fleck, senior vice-president and global brand leader, W Hotels. “W Prague fuses the enchanted history of the storied destination with bold, visionary design, creating an experience that both honors the city’s deep cultural legacy and embraces its vibrant, modern energy. This opening is a further representation of W Hotels’ momentum in Europe and beyond, setting a fresh standard for what luxury can mean in the heart of such a beloved city.”

The reimaging of the iconic property was lead by architects Benoy and the global design firm AvroKO’s London Studio, in collaboration with local designers Chapman Taylor. Highlights of W Prague include:

  • The addition of a nine-storey contemporary elliptical-shaped wing, designed by architectural studio DAM;
  • a color palette utilizing the original tones of the protected heritage building – natural earthy hues of yellow, beige, terracotta, dark grey and a unique green for the stucco decorations;
  • a “Fantastical Garden” inspired by the dreamlike art of Czech artist Alphonse Mucha;
  • the WOW Bohemia Duplex, which is located in the historical building and features restored beams, decorative arch windows, oversized curtain, double-height ceiling, and skylights;
  • art and glass installations curated by Adam Ellis Studio and local artists;
  • the first boutique store from KLIMCHI, an original manufacturer of Bohemian crystal glassware and drinkware;
  • a restored atrium with a crystal installation by Preciosa Lighting and Pavla Doležalová;
  • the revival of the hotel’s iconic Grand Café in partnership with Monaco-based restaurateur, Riccardo Giraudi;
  • and lounges and bars, including W Lounge on the ground floor, W Lounge Garden, the Above Rooftop (a seasonal outdoor terrace), and Minus One, a hidden speakeasy in the hotel’s basement.

W Prague is also home to the AWAY Spa as well as a comprehensive thermal suite experience featuring access to a sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and the All Seasons Water Journey, a multisensory immersive experience where guests can encounter environments that replicate the sensations of all four seasons.

The AWAY Spa has a beauty bar and five treatment rooms, including one couple’s room. For fitness enthusiasts, the brand’s signature gym, FIT is equipped with state-of-the-art Matrix equipment and Fitness on Demand offerings.
