The Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, will transition into a fully-branded Fairmont property – Cape Grace by Fairmont – by the end of 2023.

The property, which is located on the city’s V&A Waterfront between an international yacht marina and the working harbour, has recently been purchased by Kasada Hospitality Fund LP, an independent real estate private equity platform dedicated to hospitality in sub-Saharan Africa.

“We are noticing a real momentum in South Africa for luxury hotel brands, and we couldn’t think of a more iconic hotel than Cape Grace to establish our footprint in the country,” said Mark Willis, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. “The world-class service of the brand combined with the unique location and unparalleled level of luxury the Cape Grace Hotel will be featuring, offers the promise of an unforgettable experience to any guest or visitor coming into the property.”

Cape Grace has 120 guestrooms in 10 accommodation categories ranging from the 484-square-foot Luxury and Table Mountain Luxury rooms to the 860-square-foot Penthouse Suite on the property’s fourth floor. Offering views of the working harbour or the yacht marina and Table Mountain, the rooms are appointed with fresh flowers and personally-selected books, tea and espresso machine, mini-bar, luxurious marble bathrooms with separate bath, shower and toilet, and more. The two-bedroom Penthouse Suite features a 484-square-foot balcony area with private jacuzzi, a spacious walk-in closet, and complimentary port, sherry, whisky, cognac and mini bar. Other categories available include 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom suites, Rooftop Terrace, Rooftop Luxury, Table Mountain Superior and Superior.

Other facilities at the property include the Signal Restaurant, the Bascule Bar, a fully-equipped fitness studio, and a luxury spa with five treatment rooms, hair salon and nail salon.

The property also offers three dedicated meetings and events spaces in addition to the restaurant and bar/lounge. The 322-square-foot Winward room opens onto the hotel’s pool area and can accommodate from 12 to 30 people. The boardroom at Cape Grace is 322 square feet and has a capacity of 12-14. And the 818-square-foot Leeward room is suitable for groups ranging in size from 20 to 80 people.
