Hosted Buyer registration is now open for IBTM World, which will be held for the first time in a hybrid format.

The IBTM World in-person event will take place at Fira, Barcelona from November 30 to December 2, 2021, for the first time since 2019. The show will be followed by IBTM World Virtual, running December 7-9, 2021. Both events offer hosted buyer programs.

This year’s theme of “New Business, New Tech, New World,” reflects IBTM’s aim to enable meetings and events professionals to re-build and re-connect post-pandemic.

IBTM World will include bespoke one-to-one business meetings between the world’s leading buyers and suppliers, exciting networking opportunities and specially curated educational content to provide attendees with the tools they need to thrive in the next chapter in meetings and events.

The tailored Knowledge Program will feature inspirational speakers from the meetings and events industry and beyond, exploring topics such as safety, sustainability, diversity and upskilling. There will be a separate buyer-led association and elite corporate program and more details on this will be announced in due course.

“IBTM World is a major event in our industry’s calendar, and one that unites us under one roof for three-days of networking, learning and valuable business opportunities,” said David Thompson, event director. “After eighteen long months without an event of this stature, we invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to make genuine connections and get the knowledge and tools to thrive in 2022 and beyond. This year’s show will offer the best of both worlds, hosting physical and virtual shows to support the meetings and events industry.”

RX (the organizers of IBTM World) has worked with industry peers to create a safe working standard called “All Secure” for holding events in a COVID-impacted world, and IBTM is working closely with the local authorities and the Fira Barcelona to implement all necessary precautions.
