IMEX America seeing acceleration in buyer demand

IMEX America organizer, IMEX Group, reports that buyer demand is accelerating ahead of the 2021 edition of the show. Just one month after registration went live for the show, hosted buyer demand is higher than it was at the same point in 2019, setting a new record.

“Buyer registration is quickly gaining pace with hosted buyers registering in strong numbers,” says Ray Bloom, chairman of the IMEX Group. “There is similar buoyancy among exhibitors too, adding up to positive momentum in the run-up to our live show, IMEX America.”

Alongside the growing buyer demand, the organizers are seeing more suppliers contracting to exhibit. Recently signed exhibitors span all sectors of the industry but particularly North America. They include destinations such as Canada, Italy, Boston, Atlanta, Argentina, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, together with hotel groups Four Seasons, Wyndham Hotel Group, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, and Associated Luxury Hotels International.

“Having talked to our buyers and exhibitors we know that IMEX America is set to play a significant role in their business recovery as well as offering their teams the chance to reconnect after a tough year,” says Bloom. “Our team is busy working behind the scenes to deliver a show full of memorable moments as well as the substantial opportunities to do business that underpin all of our live shows.”

IMEX America 2021 is expected to see some 3,500 exhibitors representing 155 countries, play host to some 4,200 global decision-makers. As always, it will feature a robust hosted buyer program, several networking events and 180-plus educational events over four days. The latter includes Smart Monday powered by Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
