Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella opened today, reviving one of the most distinguished hotel’s on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

Originally opened in 1962, Los Monteros was the first hotel in Spain to receive a Michelin Star. Now, an extensive renovation has reimagined its legacy, blending historic grandeur with contemporary, relaxed luxury.

Located in an exclusive enclave of Marbella, the resort is just 500 meters from the Mediterranean Sea. It features 195 guestrooms, including 60 suites, many with private terraces and sea views.

Barcelona-based interior design firm El Equipo Creativo led the property’s transformation, with Cristina Carulla Studio responsible for the renovation of the guestrooms. Design elements throughout the property include geometric patterns and terracotta tiles.

Kimpton Los Monteros also offers more than 53,800 square feet of outdoor event space and 7,500+ square feet of versatile indoor space, including a grand ballroom for up to 250 guests, a scenic rooftop, and an exclusive beach club.

The property’s restaurants and bars are helmed by Michelin-starred Executive Chef José Carlos Garcia, who is renowned for his restaurant José Carlos Garcia Málaga. Drink and dine options include:

• Jara, a restaurant presenting elevated Mediterranean cuisine with a contemporary approach;
• Escondido Rooftop, which offers Mexican flavors in a relaxed setting, complemented by an infinity pool;
• Azul Lounge Bar, a beloved Los Monteros classic that transitions from serving specialty coffees in the morning to handcrafted cocktails and live music in the evenings;
• and Costa Club Pool Bar, which serves Mediterranean-inspired light bites and cocktails.

Kimpton Los Monteros also features a state-of-the-art spa by Maison CODAGE, which includes an extensive hydrotherapy circuit; daily yoga and fitness classes; access to Marbella’s top golf courses; The Racket Club tennis and paddle courts; and La Cabane Dolce & Gabbana Beach Club.
