Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos is now open.

Situated on South Caicos Island, the resort is The Luxury Collection’s first property in the British Overseas Territory southeast of the Bahamas.

“The Luxury Collection embodies the art of curation, bringing together an exceptional portfolio of unique hotels in some of the world’s most captivating and unexpected destinations,” says Bruce Rohr, vice-president and global brand leader, The Luxury Collection. “We are thrilled to introduce Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos as the latest addition to our expanding global footprint, offering travelers a gateway to South Caicos — a serene, lesser-explored corner of the Caribbean known for its picturesque beauty and rich maritime heritage. With its nature-inspired design, elevated culinary experiences, and world-class eco-adventures, this resort epitomizes the brand’s destination-first philosophy, where every property reflects the soul of its locale and acts as a portal to authentic cultural discovery.”

Salterra features architecture by award-winning firm TVS and interior design by Edge of Architecture, led by 2020 Gold Key Awards Designer of the Year Malcolm Berg. It has 100 guestrooms and suites crafted with regionally-sourced materials, such as native wood, coral stone and sisal. Accommodations have floor-to-ceiling windows and large balconies.

Other highlights of Salterra are:

  • The Spa at Salterra, a wellness sanctuary with eight treatment rooms (including two couple suites), a curated selection of treatments, a multisensory aqua thermal circuit (salt sauna, steam room, aloe bar, hammam), an outdoor lounge, hot tub, and social pool;
  • six distinct dining experiences, including a chic lobby bar (Sisal), a signature restaurant (Brine), an eatery serving British Caribbean fusion cuisine (Regatta), and a food truck called Jack & Jerry’s;
  • a wide-range of eco- and water-experiences, such as kayaking, diving, bone fishing, seasonal whale watching and snorkeling;
  • and myriad sustainability initiatives (solar power, industrial composting system, water desalination, elimination of single use plastics) and commitments (Coral Reef Adoption Program, the Turks & Caicos Reef Fund, and more).

“Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos is more than just a resort; it’s a destination where elegance and the spirit of South Caicos intertwine,” said Brian King, president of Marriott International’s Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region. “We are committed to offering guests a journey that celebrates the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage while offering the unmatched luxury and service synonymous with The Luxury Collection.”
