Canada has the number one spot on the TTW (Tourist and Travel World) list of the Top 50 safest travel destinations around the world for 2026.
The global digital B2B travel platform says that Canada rank is due to the country’s strong political stability, law enforcement, and infrastructure, as well as its advanced emergency systems that mitigate natural risks. Other contributing factors are its reputation for multiculturalism and inclusivity, it neutral diplomacy, transparent visa policies, accessible insurance, and strong consular support ensure security, reliability, and high traveler satisfaction.
Australia (2), Switzerland (3), Japan (4) and the United States round out this year’s top five.
TTW’s top 50 safest destinations
Anup Kuman Keshan, founder and editor-in-chief of TTW, explained that the list was created to guide travelers toward secure destinations. “Escalating geopolitical tensions—from instability in Latin America to conflicts involving the US, Israel, and Iran—are reshaping global travel patterns. Travelers are increasingly prioritizing safety and stability, avoiding high-risk regions,” he said.
