The Events Industry Council (EIC) is now accepting nominations for annual Global Awards, including Hall of Leaders — considered a Lifetime Achievement Award for the global business events industry.

The association has also announced that it will will host its annual Awards Gala on October 6, 2025 in Las Vegas. The black-tie event will include the induction of the 2025 Hall of Leaders, considered the premier recognition for the global business events industry. The 2024 winners are shown above with the EIC board.

“This Global Awards offers a wonderful opportunity for our global community to celebrate and reflect on the legacy of our sector and the remarkable achievements of so many leaders who have had a profound impact on the business events industry and society in general,” said Amy Calvert, president and chief executive officer, EIC. “Now, in a moment where the entire world is grappling with increased uncertainty, it is more important than ever that we recognize the true purpose and value of the in-person experiences we create. With more than 1.6 billion participants engaging in business events annually, we truly can be a catalyst for the change we envision.”

During the awards portion of the evening, EIC will announce the newest inductees into the Hall of Leaders. More than 160 leaders have previously been inducted into the Hall of Leaders. Nominations can be made using the awards portal through June 6, 2025.

The Global Awards will also recognize innovation and leadership in the business events industry with the following awards: Pacesetter AwardEIC Social Impact Award, and the EIC Adaptation and Innovation Award.

“It is critical that we hold up examples of leadership, recognize and celebrate the lasting and broad impact of the organizations and individuals modeling the way for others,” said Calvert. “These moments of reflection and recognition are an important part of how we build inclusivity within our communities, how we encourage new voices and diverse thinking, and how we inspire others to offer their own leadership and insights from wherever they are on their career journey.”

The 2025 Global Events Celebration falls immediately before IMEX America, which will take place May 7-9, 2025 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

“We are excited and honored to bring together a truly global representation of our membership, our global CMP community and other industry stakeholders for this annual event — especially at this reflection point for our industry,” said 2025 EIC Board Chair and CEO of ICCA Senthil Gopnath. “These awards are always one of the biggest highlights of the year for the global business events industry and reflect what we do best — bring people together and build human connection.”

MGM Resorts will once again be hosting the event. “Partnering with EIC to host this wonderful event each year is such an honor for MGM, and we look forward to welcoming EIC members, award recipients and others in October,” said Stephanie Glanzer, senior vice-president and chief sales officer of MGM Resorts. “We always welcome the opportunity to work with EIC to not only drive the meetings industry forward, but also recognize and celebrate the leaders who make the magic happen every day.”
