Luxury Collection and ITC Hotels Open Resort in South Goa

In collaboration with India’s ITC Hotels, Marriott’s Luxury Collection® Hotels & Resorts brand has opened The ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in Cansaulim, South Goa, India. The 252-key resort is set on 45 landscaped acres, with direct access to Arossim beach. “The opening of ITC Grand Goa marks a significant milestone in The Luxury Collection’s long-standing relationship with ITC, as our thirteenth property in India and our first beach resort in South Asia,” said Anthony Ingham, global brand leader, The Luxury Collection. “Best known for its alluring beaches, Goa offers a diverse blend of Indian and Portuguese culture, architecture and cuisine, and we are thrilled to unlock this unique destination for global explorers, as only The Luxury Collection can.”

ITC Hotels & WelcomHotels’ chief executive, Dipak Haksar, explained that after establishing the ITC brands presence in the popular Golden Triangle circuit, New Delhi-Agra-Jaipar, the opening of ITC Grand Goa fortifies ITC Hotels’ leisure portfolio in the popular beach destination. It also reinforces the company’s exclusive relationship with The Luxury Collection brand in India.

THE PROPERTY

The resort features village-style architecture that draws inspiration from the state’s Indo-Portuguese heritage. Guestrooms and suites feature balconies or patios providing views of the Arabian Sea, gardens and lagoons as well as a multi-level swimming pool. Design details include long, winding verandas and alcoves, wooden floorings and terracotta roofs. Six signature restaurants deliver the flavours of the destination. F&B options include Kebabs & Kurries (traditional Indian cooking); Tempero (Goan cuisine); Ottimo (Italian); Pavilion at the Market Place (Indian and international cuisines); The Royal Afghan (seaside barbeque and grill); and Farol (multi-level poolside bar).
A 36,000-square-foot indigenous spa rounds out the resort’s luxury amenities. Kaya Kalp, The Royal Spa, has 16 spa suites and signature treatments that blend traditional Indian and international therapies. The property also has an array of indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces, including Salcete, a wood-panelled ballroom that can accommodate up to 370 theatre-style; The Forest, a tropical garden surrounded by old pine trees with space for up to 350 guests; The Seaside Lawns (cap. 500); and Boathouse, a venue overlooking lagoons for up to 25 guests.
