Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort has unveiled its $26 million property-wide renovation.

The transformation of the resort in South Carolina’s Lowcountry began in August 2022. It includes a refreshed front entrance, elevated lobby, 323 upgraded guestrooms and refreshed balconies, and an expanded courtyard.

“The completion of this top-to-bottom renovation marks an exciting chapter for our resort,” said Calvin Belknap, general manager of Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort. “Hilton Head is evolving as a vacation destination, and we look forward to offering an updated experience that’s reminiscent of the traditional southern hospitality we’re known for with a contemporary look and feel that appeals to a new generation of travelers.”

The design team stayed true to the area’s flora and fauna for the interiors, and pulled elements from local architecture, most notably the haint blue porch ceilings. To evoke a residential feel, they used both traditional and transitional furnishings and a color palette focused on ocean blue and green.

Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort’s new guestrooms feature a design that blends modern aesthetics and classic beach elements. Headboards and sofas pull in blues from the ocean. Green accent pillows draw from shades found in Lowcountry vegetation. Caning accents on the dresser, wicker desk and chair bring a tropical feel to the rooms, and the textural, patterned carpet is reminiscent of the sandy beach.

The redeveloped suite balconies, which combine modern comfort with coastal aesthetics, are outfitted with new sliding glass doors and railings.

Other renovation highlights include:

• A front entrance with lush landscaping and subtle lighting;
• an open air lobby featuring oversized windows, natural textures, mutes tones and nautical accents;
• and a courtyard with meandering pathways, yard games (chess, checkers, ping pong, etc.), cornhole, fire pit, comfortable seating areas (rocking chairs, wicker rockers, oversized club chairs and wingback chairs), and a subdued color palette of greens, taupes and creams that blends with the natural colors of the surrounding landscaping and trees.

The courtyard also serves as an al fresco event venue that can accommodate up to 150 guests. Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort has 14,000 square feet of indoor meeting space spread across 13 rooms, and 5,100 square feet of outdoor event space.
