Japan Convention Bureau launches incentive travel website

The Japan Convention Bureau debuted its new incentive travel-specific website in late November.

The site was created to inspire planners looking for new ideas and destinations for their incentive travel programs.

It features an easy-to-search database of venues and activities. Planners can explore a sampling of what the country offers in 11 categories: dining, nature, relaxation, culture, urban, art, outdoors, team building, attractions, experience, and accommodation.

The results can be further broken down by region and/or prefecture and season.

The launch of the website follows the publication of a guide dedicated to incentive travel earlier in 2021.

Published by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), Japan: Inspiration for Incentive Travel provides all the information planners need to create successful programs in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The guide begins with sample three- and four-day itineraries in destinations ranging from the heart of Japan to the beaches of Okinawa and the mountains of Hokkaido.

These itineraries are followed by a curated list of activities and experiences—soba noodle eat-off, ninja for a day, overnight stay at a temple, and more—that will ensure participants have unforgettable experiences while connecting with Japanese culture.

The guide ends with a look at nine unique venues and two information pages detailing Japan’s geography, climate, visa requirements, flights times, and contact information.
