Hilton has signed an agreement with DAIWA JISYO Co., Ltd. to open Conrad Yokohama in 2027. Yokohama is Japan’s second largest city.
“We are delighted to partner with DAIWA JISYO Co., Ltd. and bring our award-winning Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand to Yokohama. This dynamic city appeals to leisure and business travelers alike, plays host to international conferences and corporate events, and offers rich opportunities for sightseeing, entertainment and dining,” said Clarence Tan, senior vice-president, Development, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “Today’s signing of Conrad Yokohama marks the continued expansion of our luxury footprint in Japan’s most sought-after destinations and signals the strong confidence that owners place in Hilton.”
Conrad Yokohama will span 16 levels of a 40-storey high-rise. It will feature 272 guestrooms, an executive lounge, four distinctive dining options, banquet and meeting spaces, a fitness center, spa, and indoor pool. The property’s design will evoke Yokohama’s history as a trading port, its present urban streetscapes and its transformation into a global metropolis.
“We are pleased to partner with Hilton, a leading global hospitality company, to launch its luxury brand Conrad Hotels & Resorts in Yokohama, where we first started our business,” said Masayuki Oshikawa, president, DAIWA JISYO Co., Ltd. “With the support of Kanagawa Prefecture and the City of Yokohama, we look forward to contributing to the city’s development by attracting conscientious travelers from around the world.”
Yokohama has a comprehensive transportation network that includes rail, roadways, and access to Haneda Airport. Conrad Yokohama will be located within walking distance of JR Bashamichi station and Sakuragi-cho station on the Minatomirai Line, offering easy access to a wealth of shopping and dining options. It will also be close to attractions such as Pacifico Yokohama, Landmark Tower, the Red Brick Warehouse, CupNoodles Museum, and the city’s Chinatown.
Conrad Yokohama will complement the existing Hilton Yokohama, which opened in September 2023 in the Minato Mirai 21 precinct.
