Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa is now open, strengthening Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection brand presence in the Dominican Republic.

Located on Playa Esmeralda in the emerging Miches region, the adults-only all-inclusive has 500 suites, each with a private terrace or balcony, and many offering ocean views, swim-out access, and furnished balconies. Preferred Club accommodations offer personalized check-in and checkout, upgraded minibars, access to a private lounge, exclusive pools and beach areas, a pillow menu, and dedicated butler service. The resort also has a Preferred Club Presidential Suite with an expansive layout, private kitchen, and jet pool terrace.

Secrets Playa Esmeralda’s 11 restaurants and seven bars are helmed by executive chef Carlos Quijano. Dining options include a signature restaurant – Doña Altagracia – which serves elevated interpretations of traditional dishes such as mofongo and stewed goat;  Castaways Steakhouse; Meraki (Mediterranean cuisine); Portofino (Italian); Bordeaux (French cuisine); and Beach Club, a seaside lounge serving a Latin-Caribbean menu.

The resort’s wellness facilities are anchored by Secrets Spa. It is home to six double treatment cabins, five single treatment cabins, a 527-square-foot master cabin with 323-square-foot terrace, sun beds, a full-service salon, and a hydrotherapy circuit with cold plunge, steam room, sauna, and four therapeutic showers.

Secrets Playa Esmeralda also offers a full fitness center and an array of sports facilities, including tennis courts and beach volleyball courts, water sports, aerobics, dance and Spanish classes, kayaking, snorkeling, and introductory scuba diving lessons in the pool.

Meeting and event space at the resort spans more than 15,000 square feet, indoors and out. Its 11 versatile venues include the Miches Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 1,440 guests theater-style, multiple breakout rooms, and a beachfront gazebo. On-site planners provide personalized service, from team-building activities to curated dining experiences.

At the heart of the resort and the adjacent, family-friendly property, Dreams Esmeralda Resort & Spa (opening September 2025), is a shared, village-style public square filled with dining, shopping and entertainment venues.
