SITE Canada’s 2018 Education Day explored the art and science of human connections. Held on Tuesday, October 30 at Old Mill Toronto, the one-day conference featured a Supplier Showcase, keynotes and breakout sessions. Highlights included a team-building activity presented by Catalyst Canada that had attendees pounding out the Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling on percussion tubes; a session on how the lessons of behavioural economics and neuroscience can be applied to incentive travel delivered by Allan Schweyer, founder of TMLU, Inc. and the chief academic advisor for the Incentive Research Foundation; and a look at the “Top 10 Trends Facing the Incentive Industry,” presented by Didier Scaillet, CEO, SITE Global.
Winners of the day’s draws were Mary Spano-Greco, CIS, program manager, Rewards & Recognition and Employee Experience, TD Wealth, and Ellie MacPherson, CITP, senior vice-president, SM + i/Strategic Meetings + Incentives. Mary took home a $500 gift certificate courtesy of Meetings Encore. Ellie was the lucky winner of an eight-day stay in Malta courtesy of Colours of Malta Travel and Incentives, a member of Hosts Global.
