Gaylord property opens in Chula Vista, California

Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center is now open in Chula Vista. It is the first-ever Gaylord Hotels property in California, and the sixth in the brand’s portfolio.

Developed in partnership with RIDA Development Corporation, the $1.3B (US) property features 1,600 guestrooms including 89 suites, 12 food and beverage concepts, a 4.25-acre waterpark with multiple pools, and more than 477,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

It is the first Gaylord Hotels property to open since the 2018 premiere of Gaylord Rockies Resort in Colorado. Highlights of the property include:

  • guestrooms ranging in size from 389 square feet to 623 square feet, all with dedicated work areas and mountain or bay views;
  • executive suites featuring up to 838 square feet of space with a separate living room and sofa bed and the option to connect to a neighboring queen guestroom;
  • six Luxury Suites, 10 Presidential Suites, and two ultra-premium Penthouse Presidential Suites that offering 3,254 square feet of indoor and outdoor space and a private, furnished balcony;
  • 135,000 square feet of event lawns and terrace, 67 breakout rooms and four ballrooms;
  • California’s largest (140,049 square feet) hotel convention center and ballroom – California Ballroom & Exhibit Hall;
  • full-service events team;
  • f&b options led by Chef Jakob Esko, including Old Hickory Steakhouse, Trēō Kitchen & Bar, Growlers Sports Bar & Taproom, Shallow End Grill, Oeste Bar, and Taiyō (sushi);
  • waterpark with multiple pools, waterslides, a lazy river, and a wave pool, as well as bookable cabanas and plenty of lounge chairs;
  • a Gaylord Hotels signature Relâche Spa & Salon;
  • and a 7,500-square-foot fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment.
