Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid, is now welcoming guests. It is the first Luxury Collection property in the Spanish capital.
Located in the city’s aristocratic Chamberi district, the hotel is steps away from an array of cultural attractions, including the Sorolla Museum, flamenco shows at the Teatros del Canal, and Andén O Metro Station, an exhibition space in a restored subway station.
The 49-key property is housed in three buildings, the oldest of which dates to the 18th century when it served as the residence of the Duke of Santo Mauro.
Prior to opening under the Luxury Collection flag, the hotel’s guestrooms, public areas, restaurants, and gardens were thoughtfully renovated.
The guestrooms, including 10 suites, have been refreshed with natural materials such as stone, marble, and wood. Furnishings covered in plush leather, midnight blue velvet and silk add a modern, elegant feel to the rooms, which is balanced by a neutral colour palette in warm earth tones.
The property also offers:
- Two restaurants: Helmed by Chef Rafael Peña, owner of Gresca, in Barcelona, La Biblioteca and El Jardin feature menus inspired by the meals of noble houses.
- Wellness facilities: An existing indoor pool will be joined by a new spa and fitness area, which will debut as a part of the second phase of the renovations that is set to commence in summer 2022.
- Seven event spaces, with a partially-outdoors space to be revealed in summer 2022.
“Madrid is simultaneously a spirited, modern metropolis and a place of discovery imbued with the rich history of the Spanish capital,” said Philipp Weghmann, vice-president and global brand leader, The Luxury Collection. “The destination is a natural fit for The Luxury Collection and our global explorers who seek immersive cultural experiences, and we cannot wait to welcome them at Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid.”
