Fairmont unveils renovations across global portfolio

Historic Splendor at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald (Edmonton, Alberta)

Completed in 2024, Fairmont Hotel Macdonald’s guest room renovation and meeting spaces transformation gave new life to the Edmonton landmark while carefully preserving its historical essence. Design details include the original 1915 emblem door, bespoke artwork crafted from century-old photographs, and the restoration of original, historic ceilings in the ballrooms that took over 1,000 hours to hand paint.

 

Reviving Grandeur at Fairmont Le Montreux Palace (Montreux, Switzerland)

In April 2025, Fairmont Le Montreux Palace Switzerland unveiled the restoration of its 120 lakeview rooms and iconic main façade. The transformation enhanced the hotel’s Belle Époque charm while incorporating modern amenities and sustainable improvements.

 

Fairmont Orchid’s Luxurious Transformation (Hawaii Island)

In June 2025, Fairmont Orchid on Hawaii Island announced the completion of its multimillion-dollar renovation project to refresh all 540 guestrooms and suites, the resort’s private Gold Floor, and its meeting and event spaces. The renovation is inspired by the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the destination with fluid layouts guided by the ocean’s movement, color palettes informed by the island’s topography, and textures inspired by traditional Hawaiian craftsmanship.

Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, A Fairmont Managed Hotel in Bermuda has undergone a transformation that debuted in May 2025. The newly renovated Bermudiana Wing features six one-bedroom suites, each of which can be converted into two-bedroom suites to accommodate families. The upgraded wing’s debut was a special one in this hotel’s 140th anniversary – each  renovated guest room showcases specially commissioned artwork and also reinforces Fairmont’s commitment to sustainability. The hotel is the island’s only Green Key certified hospitality site.

Fairmont Banff Springs is redefining family-friendly luxury with its newly renovated Gatehouse Suite. Set to be unveiled in June 2025, this transformation caters to the growing demand for multigenerational travel experiences.

In June, legendary London hotel, The Savoy, unveiled a new design for its rooms and suites. Developed by award-winning design studio, G.A. Group, the new look celebrates The Savoy’s history, reinventing its distinctive Edwardian and Art Deco styles with elevated color palettes, luxurious textures and bespoke furnishings.

 

Fairmont Southampton’s Record-Breaking Redevelopment (Bermuda)

The iconic Fairmont Southampton has embarked on the largest renovation project in Bermuda’s history, set for completion in early Summer 2026. This $550 million redevelopment will reimagine the 593-room resort, introducing a new world-class beach club with resort pool and cabanas, fully transformed guestrooms, an upgraded lobby and reception area, enhanced restaurant experiences, and reimagined meeting spaces and grand ballrooms.

 

A New Era for Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva

The Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva, considered one of Geneva’s most iconic hotels, is undergoing a major transformation that will debut in 2026. The renovation overseen by Victory Group will include the building’s facade, which will be redone and include the addition of loggias in the rooms overlooking the lake. The hotel’s interior, inclusive of more than 400 rooms, will be completely renovated, and the most prestigious floor, on the 7th level, will be completely redesigned with larger spaces.

 

Fairmont Grand Del Mar Reimagines its Spa Spaces & Design (San Diego, California)

Fairmont Spa & Wellness Center at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, a Forbes five-star spa, introduces a newly reimagined sanctuary designed to restore, refresh, and rejuvenate. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, key enhancements to the spa include new treatment rooms, a sound therapy room, an upgraded dressing lounge and cutting-edge spa technology from Gharieni Group to promote relaxation and sensory immersion.
