EDITION Hotels brand debuts in Jeddah

The Jeddah EDITION opened on May 2nd, marking the brand’s debut in the Saudi Arabian port city.

Located on the Jeddah Corniche, a 30-kilometer coastal resort area along the Red Sea, the urban resort is steps from the Jeddah Art Promenade and a short drive from destinations like Al-Balad, a UNESCO Heritage site in the historic part of the city, and The Red Sea Mall. Sitting on one of the most exciting corners of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Circuit – the fastest Formula 1 track – adjacent to the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina, it is housed in a sleek low-rise building designed to resemble a superyacht.

EDITION and international design studio Yabu Pushelberg partnered on the design of the resort, which has 52 rooms and 11 suites including two Penthouses, a rooftop terrace with a pool, a spa, a gym, two lounges, and a signature French-Asian restaurant serving curated culinary concepts by New York chef Cédric Vongerichten.

Accommodations are calming spaces. Design details include travertine flooring, white oiled oak wall paneling embellished with black-and-white photographs of old Jeddah, custom furnishings such as inset leather headboards, freestanding bathtubs, and signature EDITION Le Labo toiletries.

Highlights of The Jeddah Edition include:

  • a lobby area with 12-meter-high ceilings, a large acrylic sphere by artist Vincent Leroy, brushed white oak walls, travertine floors, a Persian rug, and a sculptural solid walnut reception desk;
  • Lobby Lounge decorated with curved Molteni&C sofas, Henge tables, and white linen Avenue Road club chairs arranged around white marble tables;
  • Lobby Bar serving handcrafted beverages, coffee by a local roaster, and a selection of teas served alongside a menu of light bites and an array of pastries;
  • an expansive alfresco terrace spanning the entirety of the building;
  • and The Roof, a Mediterranean beach club-inspired escape with a 14-meter pool, private nooks and lounges on the fourth floor.
