The first lifestyle hotel and private residences from Canadian hotelier Sukhdev Toor is expected to open this year in downtown Toronto’s east end.

TOOR Hotel will offer 232 guestrooms and suites as well as 181 premium residential units.  Located on Jarvis Street, just north of Moss Park, the Arcadis IBI-designed tower will also feature destination dining, a 1,500-square-foot fitness center and yoga studio, a 3,000-square-foot southern terrace on the 14th floor, and an additional 1,100 square feet of meeting and event space. The 33-storey development will deliver views of the city and Lake Ontario.

Sukhdev Toor brings almost four decades of experience in operating hotels to the project, having developed dozens of hotels across Canada and the United States under Manga Hotel Group.

Designed by Toronto-based DesignAgency, TOOR Hotel’s guestrooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, contemporary interiors, and modern amenities including 55″ televisions, Nespresso machines, and Lutron lighting with smart controls.

“We wanted this property to really celebrate the vibrant heart of the city, in a space that was unlike any other,” said Matt Davis, founding partner of DesignAgency. “We drew inspiration by incorporating elements from the city grid forms and Victorian architecture like arches and round towers, reflecting themes of geometry, connectivity, and interlaced layers.”

The property’s restaurant, Muse Bistro + Bar, was designed by Mackaywong. Offering modern French-inspired cuisine in an European-designed interior, the 2,500-square-foot, two-storey eatery features a ground floor with space for meetings, working and quick on-the-go bites. The second floor will offer a more refined dining experience alongside additional meeting and event space. Its menu is being designed by The Fifteen Group, a leading restaurant consulting agency.

TOOR Hotel is the first of four boutique TOOR Hotel Collection properties scheduled top open in downtown Toronto locations over the next five years. The collection will range from lifestyle to luxury five-star hotels, with each property curated to be a reflection of its neighborhood’s aesthetic and atmosphere.
