Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, is now home to the region’s first Meliá Hotels & Resorts-branded property – Meliá Costa Atlantis.

Formerly operating under the Sol brand, the hotel has undergone a nearly €4 million transformation as part of a strategic repositioning by GMA Corporate for Atom Hoteles Socimi.

Situated in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz in northern Tenerife, Meliá Costa Atlantis is directly across from the iconic Martiánez Beach. It offers 290 rooms, including 80 The Level rooms and two Presidential Suites.

The Level is Meliá’s premium experience. Designed for discerning travelers, it offers superior guestrooms with ocean views, personalized service, access to private areas, and exclusive lounge, and separate check-in and check-out.

Other highlights of Meliá Costa Atlantis are:

  • three food and beverage venues, including Rumba (international buffet), Boreal Lobby Bar, and O’lula Pool Bar (cocktails and light bites);
  • two outdoor pools – one for adults, one for children – surrounded by gardens;
  • and a large solarium area, complete with sun loungers and Balinese beds.

The property is also home to an exclusive YHI Spa. Located on the 14th floor beneath a glass dome, it features a complete hydrothermal circuit with water jets, swan neck fountains, microbubble beds, hydromassage stations, counter-current swimming, a sauna, steam bath, and an ice fountain.

With this relaunch, Meliá Costa Atlantis not only strengthens Meliá Hotels & Resorts’ presence in the Canary Islands but also redefines wellness tourism in northern Tenerife. Rooted in wellbeing as a lifestyle, the hotel champions conscious nutrition, mindfulness, and sustainability — creating a haven where comfort, serenity, and nature come together to offer guests a truly restorative experience.

The Meliá Hotels & Resorts is Meliá’s flagship premium brand. It currently includes 127 hotels with 40,549 rooms in 30 countries around the world and has a development pipeline consisting of 19 hotels offering 5,327 rooms in nine countries.
