La Concha Resort, one of Puerto Rico’s most iconic beachfront properties, has completed an extensive renovation and reopened as part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.

“This is a landmark moment for La Concha Resort and for Puerto Rico’s premium hospitality scene,” said Mike Rivera, general manager. “Our encompassing renovation and transition to Autograph Collection, allows us to elevate every aspect of our guests’ experiences – from the thoughtfully redesigned suites to an immersive, elevated culinary scene, and personalized moments like our new cocktail program and wellness offerings.”

A highlight of the $80.2 million (USD) renovation is the fully reimagined Suite Tower, which offers 238 newly redesigned rooms and suites.

Designed by Celano Design, the transformed suites feature custom marble-flooring in the bathrooms, private balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a color palette of whites, bone, gray and teal that evokes the tropical modern aesthetic of the resort.

La Concha’s culinary offerings were also refreshed. Levant by Chef Michael White, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant led by Michelin-starred chef Michael White, opened in March (2025) in the resort’s iconic shell-shaped building. Tekka Bar, a counter-side handroll and sake experience in the main lobby, opened late last year. A signature three-meal restaurant – AQA Oceanfront – is slated to open this summer.

The property’s lobby bar was also fully transformed and is now serving a signature cocktail experience that invites guests to personalize their drinks by choosing from five distinct infusions/moods (Adventurous, Passionate, Social, Introvert, or Life of the Party).

Additionally, the wellness experience at La Concha has also been elevated with the opening of Elemara Spa & Salon in late 2024. And, the renovation of the resort’s banquet venues/ballroom is expected to be completed by this fall.

“Puerto Rico continues to captivate travelers with its rich culture, natural beauty, and vibrant energy,” said Brian King, president, Marriott International, Caribbean and Latin America. “La Concha Resort’s transformation and debut as the first Autograph Collection hotel on the island is a testament to the destination’s growing appeal.”
