Lifestyle hospitality company Ennismore today announced the signing of The Hoxton, Madrid, the brand’s first hotel in the city and second destination in Spain. It joins The Hoxton, Poblenou, which debuted in Barcelona in 2022.
Set to open in 2026, the hotel will be located on Plaza de Santa Ana in Madrid’s historic center. It will be housed in an iconic modernist-style building by renowned Spanish architect Jesús Carrasco-Muñoz y Encina.
The Hoxton, Madrid will feature:
- 192 guestrooms and suites in the brand’s five classic categories, all decorated with plush fabrics, statement rugs and retro-chic furniture
- an open-plan lobby with an all-day coffee bar and lounge space
- The Apartment, Hoxton’s signature meeting and events space
- Il Bambini Club, a lively trattoria with a bar and open kitchen, a Hoxton signature restaurant with existing venues in Paris and London
- Cayo Coco, a rooftop bar serving tropical classic cocktails, wine, beers, and Cuban vibes
The refurbishment of The Hoxton, Madrid, will be led by Petra AM, with the support of Urban Input Group, which previously helped bring The Hoxton, Paris and Poblenou to life.
“We’re delighted to be growing The Hoxton’s portfolio with another exciting property in Spain. Madrid has long been on our radar, and this modernist gem of a building is going to be the perfect home for The Hoxton brand in a neighborhood teeming with incredible culture, food and history,” said Sharan Pasricha, founder and co-CEO, Ennismore. “The Hoxton’s pipeline for the coming years is strong, with Madrid one of several openings we have lined up in Europe alongside Oslo, Kraków and Hamburg, as well as Melbourne in Australia and Nashville in the US. Our bar concept, Cayo Coco, has been a standout success in Vienna, so we’re particularly excited to introduce it to Madrid.”
The Hoxton, Madrid is close to several of the city’s major attractions – the Prado, Reina Sofia, and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums – as well as tapas bars, cafés, and markets.
