InterContinental Brisbane is now officially open, marking the brand’s debut in Brisbane and its third property in Queensland.

The 319-room hotel is located on Elizabeth Street within the luxury shopping precinct of Queen Street Mall in the heart of the city’s CBD. A significant two-year transformation will start in 2026, elevating the luxury guest experience while honoring the vision of the building’s modernist architect, Harry Seidler.

The reimagination of the property forms part of developer ISPT’s vision to reimagine the Elizabeth Street precinct into a vibrant hub that seamlessly integrates world-class tourism, entertainment and dining into the city’s central business district.

Spanning 25 floors, InterContinental Brisbane offers:

  • rooms and suites with city views
  • 19 meeting rooms and one of the city’s largest event ballrooms
  • an outdoor lap pool
  • fitness center with elliptical machines, free weights, rower and treadmill
  • Latitude 27 Bar & Kitchen, a new all-day restaurant and lobby bar

The property also includes a signature Club InterContinental lounge on 25th floor, which delivers river city views alongside elevated guest experiences including personalized check-in, twilight drinks and canapes, and complimentary breakfast.

“We are incredibly proud to now have a footprint in one of Australia’s most dynamic and fast-growing cities and are excited to welcome our first guests through our doors today,” said Shaun Parsons, general manager, InterContinental Brisbane. “To be part of Brisbane’s transformation ahead of the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics is a privilege, particularly in helping to shape its tourism and hospitality scene by offering an exciting, culturally rich stay experience for local and international guests alike.”

InterContinental Brisbane joins InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef and InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

IHG Hotels and Resorts operates 69 hotels in Australasia operating under nine brands: Six Senses, InterContinental, Kimpton, Vignette Collection, Hotel Indigo, voco, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. Another 26 properties are the hospitality company’s development pipeline.
