Mandarin Oriental will open its first hotel in Austria – Mandarin Oriental, Vienna – on October 20, 2025.
Located in the city’s prestigious First District, the luxury property is housed in a heritage-listed former courthouse at Riemergasse 7. The Art Nouveau building, which originally opened in 1908, has been carefully restored to honor its architectural legacy while integrating modern design elements.
Mandarin Oriental, Vienna opens with 86 rooms and 52 suites , all of which have been restored to combine modern comfort with the charm of Viennese Art Nouveau. Accommodation offerings include three exclusive Mandarin Signature Suites and a grand Royal Suite.
For meetings and events, the hotel has seven multifunctional boardrooms and a 1,507-square-foot ballroom, all featuring natural light and state-of-the-art flexibility.
The property’s four dining venues are helmed by executive chef Thomas Seifried. Le Sept, its signature fine dining restaurant offers a seafood-focused menu enhanced with contemporary French techniques and subtle Asian influences. The all-day dining restaurant, Atelier 7 – Brasserie, serves international comfort food. Chic Atelier 7 – Izakaya and Bar combines Art Nouveau with Japonisme. And Atelier 7 – The Café, which is a contemporary spin on Viennese coffeehouse tradition, offers fine specialty coffees, global teas and artisan pastries.
“Vienna is ready for a new culinary chapter that surprises, inspires and offers enjoyment at the highest level. Our guests can expect a flavorful journey in a stylish yet inviting setting. Good cuisine should be accessible to everyone who enjoys savoring it, not exclusive,” says Seifried.
Wellness facilities at Mandarin Oriental, Vienna include The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, which has seven treatment rooms, a large indoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a VIP treatment area. The spa offers Mandarin Oriental’s signature wellness therapies as well as rituals inspired by local tradition.
“Our aim is to create a place that is both a retreat for international travelers and a meeting place for locals with an appreciation of the extraordinary. The historic Art Nouveau building in Riemergasse provides the ideal setting for this,” said Mario Habicher, the property’s general manager.
