A new, wellness-focused Paradisus by Meliá all-inclusive luxury resort has opened on Fuerteventura, the second largest of Spain’s Canary Islands and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Inspired by the island’s unique landscape, Paradisus Fuerteventura introduces a new concept – “Wellness. Designed by Destination.” This philosophy centers on providing guests with a personalized stay that supports a lifestyle of balance and well-being. The resort’s architecture also reflects the island’s geography, blending natural materials  with soft, organic forms that reflect golden dunes, secluded coves and mountains that meet the sea.

Set on Sotavento Beach, one of the world’s top wind and kitesurfing destinations, Paradisus Fuerteventura is home to the prestigious René Egli by Meliá watersports center. The property also offers:

  • 361 rooms and suites, including ocean-view accommodations decorated with regional art and handcrafted touches;
  • four swimming pools (one saltwater) surrounded by tropical gardens;
  • seven restaurants, ranging from casual poolside dining to elevated international cuisine;
  • a signature destination spa;
  • and The Reserve, an adults-only service offering elevated experiences, including personalized services through a concierge, a private lounge, exclusive pools, and priority access to activities and restaurants.

In addition, Paradisus Fuerteventura is designed to positively impact the island. Initiatives include partnering with local artists and suppliers, promoting regional culture and sports, and supporting inclusive job creation. The resort also contributes to a circular economy by prioritizing regional products and sustainable practices.

This launch is part of Meliá Hotel International’s long-term investment in Fuerteventura, which will soon include the island’s first lifestyle hotel, ZEL Fuerteventura.

Located 97 kilometers from the coast of north Africa, Fuerteventura has 150 kilometers of white sand beaches. It has a temperate climate, with more than 3,000 hours of sunshine a year and an average day-time high of 22°C. Cooled by trade winds (primarily from the north), it is renowned as a surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing destination, especially in the spring and summer months.
