The Carlton Milan, Rocco Forte Hotel’s tenth Italian property, is now open. Located in the heart of the city’s Fashion District, the luxury hotel offers 71 guestrooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar, and a spa.

Designed by architects Philip Vergeylen and Paolo Moschino, The Carlton underwent an extensive €60-million renovation under the creative direction of Olga Polizzi, the group’s Deputy Chair and Director of Design. With entrances on Via Senato 5 and Via della Spiga 8, it opens with a design that blends tradition with contemporary design, bold palettes, and Art Deco detail.

Notably, its gastronomic offerings are rooted in the culinary ethos of Fulvio Pierangelini, Rocco Forte’s creative director of Food. The property has three food and beverage venues: Spiga, which offers a menu that shifts with the seasons and celebrates the best local ingredients; Cafe Floretta, which serves a creative all-day menu in a space flooded with natural light from a domed glass roof; and The Carlton Bar, which pays home to Italy’s aperitivo culture and features signature creations by renowned mixologist Salvatore Calabrese. The Carlton Garden is set to open in Spring 2026.

The Irene Forte Spa is a 3,000+ square-foot wellness sanctuary where bio-innovation meets ancestral healing and the regenerative powers of nature. The spa features treatment rooms, a nail salon, and the Thermal & Relaxation Suite, complete with sauna, steam room, sensory showers and sound beds. It is also home to a Forte Vita Bar, for express treatments, and an all-day fitness center.

Reflecting on the opening, Sir Rocco Forte, CEO and chairman of the company he co-founded with his sister Olga Polizzi, said: “It is wonderful to be opening a hotel in the heart of Milan. The city has become one of the most vibrant centers in Europe and economically one of the fastest growing. It is an honor to be part of this. The Carlton is a chic new watering hole for the conoscenti and Milan’s most sophisticated clientele.”

Leading The Carlton  – part of Reale Mutua’s real estate portfolio – is Francesco Roccato, managing director of Rocco Forte Hotels’ Northern Italy Area. He comments: “We are truly excited about our latest opening in Milan. The Carlton reflects our approach to hospitality, aimed at establishing the property as a landmark both internationally and within this dynamic city.”

“This important investment,” says Luca Petrichella, general manager of Reale Immobili, “strengthens our strategic positioning in the hotel sector and provides the city with a historic and prestigious hotel that has been completely renovated. It enhances the quality of Milan accommodation ahead of the upcoming Winter Olympics and further reinforces its international vocation.”

Milan will be in the spotlight next year as host of the XXV Winter Olympic Games (Milano Cortina 2026), which will take place at sites across Lombardy and Northeast Italy.
