Waldorf Astoria brand coming to Spain’s Malaga Province

 Hilton and Higuerón Developments today announced the signing of Waldorf Astoria Marbella, bringing the Waldorf Astoria brand to Spain’s Malaga Province.

Expected to open in 2029, the new resort will feature a unique design created by three Pritzker Prize-winning architects, who are currently working on its conceptual design competition.

Waldorf Astoria Marbella will offer a collection of f&b venues, including the brand’s iconic Peacock Alley, a Lobby Bar, a signature restaurant, and a pool bar and grill. Wellness will sit at the center of the resort, anchored by an 8,000+ square-foot spa with four treatment rooms, a gym, and indoor and outdoor pools with expansive decks. Its event venues include a grand ballroom, a multi-function space, two connected meeting rooms, and an executive boardroom.

The resort’s private residences offer access to bespoke services and amenities, such as an owner’s lounge, fitness space, and private dining room. Both guests of the hotel and those in the residences will also have access to a championship golf course that was originally designed by legendary golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Sr., in 1994 and is set for a transformation that will preserve its essence. The redesign will be led by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who will reinterpret the course with a contemporary and sustainable vision.
