Eloquent, heartfelt tributes from all over the world have been posted on social media this past weekend following the passing on August 6, 2021, of James T. Adams, former member of SITE’s international board of directors and founder of Indiana-based, Performance Strategies, Inc.

James “Jim” Adams

A veritable giant of the incentive travel industry, Jim will be remembered as a contrarian with forthright views that were always moderated by razor-sharp wit and a gentle, loving heart.

“Jim’s commitment to SITE was lifelong. He served two periods on our international board of directors and was a serial donor to SITE Foundation,” said SITE president Aoife Delaney, CIS, CITP. “A true thought-leader in all senses of the word, our industry benefitted enormously from Jim’s boundless creativity, insight, and panache as an entrepreneur and agency-owner. I’m privileged to have served on SITE’s IBOD alongside Jim. As we say in Ireland, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anamdilis—may his sweet soul be on God’s right-hand side.”

President of SITE Foundation, Terry Manion, CIS, CITP, added: “SITE Foundation is indebted to Jim and his family for their outstanding support over the years. Jim was a truly brilliant incentive travel professional who understood the essence of reward, recognition and motivation, building his own hugely successful incentive house business in the process. However, he also understood the need to give back to the industry that fostered his success and generously supported SITE Foundation’s important work in research, education and advocacy. We’ll miss Jim greatly but are consoled by the fact that Shelby and Lindsay, his daughters, will ensure his legacy remains.”

SITE’s global family extends deepest condolences to Jim’s wife, Carol, to his daughters, Shelby and Lindsay, to his extended family, and to his many, many clients, colleagues, suppliers and friends all over the world.
