Minor Hotels expanding Oman portfolio

Minor Hotels has announced the development of a new Anantara brand resort in Bandar Al Khairan, Muscat, Oman.

Located on the rugged coast just 45 minutes from Oman’s capital city , the new-build 121-key property is expected to open 2026.

The resort in Bandar Al Khairan will feature 51 generously-sized guestrooms, 46 chalets, and 24 villas built along the mountain shoreline overlooking the Gulf of Oman. The one- and two-bedroom villas will be set separately in gardens for enhanced privacy. A selection of units will include private pools.

Other premium facilities and amenities at the luxury resort, include:

  • five restaurants and bars (all-day international dining, a specialty restaurant, a beach restaurant, a delicatessen café, and a rooftop bar with sea views);
  • an Anantara Spa and a fitness center;
  • private stargazing majlis where guests can take in the night sky;
  • an infinity swimming pool and kids’ splash pool;
  • meeting and event spaces;
  • and a helipad.

The property in Bandar Al Khairan will be owned by Musstir, the real estate acquisition and development arm of the MB Holding Company, which also owns Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara on Oman’s south coast.
