The Wyndham Grand brand debuted in South Korea earlier this month with the opening of Wyndham Grand Ijin Busan.

The property offers 271 guestrooms and suites that overlook the coastline. Designed to meet the needs of business and leisure travelers, it offers a variety of dining options with both local and international cuisines, a rejuvenating spa, a heated indoor pool with views of the Namhang Bridge, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. It also has six event venues, including a ballroom that can host 700 conference attendees or 550 banquet guests.

Busan is South Korea’s second largest city. Wyndham Grand Ijin Busan is less than 20 kilometers from Gimhae International Airport, and close to many of Busan’s attractions, including Songdo Beach, the Songdo Marine Cable Car, the world-famous Jagalchi Market (the country’s largest seafood market), and Taejongdae, a national geo-park.

“South Korea offers endless opportunity for international travelers to experience new cultures, visit historic landmarks and create long-lasting memories,” said Ben Schumacher, vice-president of Operations South East Asia & Pacific Rim (SEAPR), Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Introducing  Wyndham Grand to Busan not only adds to our growing portfolio in the region, but also unlocks remarkable experiences for guests in a vibrant city with world-class amenities to make their stay special.”

Wyndham’s strategic expansion in South Korea comes when there is increasing demand for travel to the destination, with the number of international visitors surpassing one billion for the first time in July 2023 since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to data from the Korea Tourism Organization.

The Wyndham Grand brand portfolio currently includes more than 70 hotels around the world. Wyndham Grand Ijin Busan joins other recent openings including Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa, and Wyndham Grand Krakow Old Town.
