Kempinski Hotel Cancún opens

Kempinski Hotel Cancún, which opened in December, is Kempinski Hotels first property in North America.

Located on a 400-metre stretch of beach in Cancún’s hotel zone, the property offers 315 guestrooms and 48 suites, all featuring a private balcony or terrace with a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea.

Amenities include:

  • two AAA Five Diamond Award restaurants;
  • private beachside cabanas and club lounge;
  • two swimming pools;
  • an oceanfront whirlpool;
  • a Mayan-inspired spa with relaxation gardens;
  • a fully-equipped fitness centre;
  • a tennis centre;
  • a beauty salon;
  • and a Kids Club.

Meeting and event spaces include an 11,220-square-foot, divisible ballroom, meeting rooms, boardrooms, breakout spaces, outdoor venues by the pool, and a beachfront venue that can accommodate up to 700 guests.

Kempinski Hotel Cancún joins the luxury hotelier’s portfolio of 82 hotels in 36 countries.  The hospitality company, which just turned 125 years old, is currently developing properties countries around the world including Turkey, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Lombok (Indonesia), and Brazil.

Located in Cancún’s hotel zone, the five-star hotel can be reached in 25 minutes from Cancún International Airport as well as from downtown Cancún. Upscale shopping centres such as the Kukulcán Plaza or the La Isla Shopping Village are within walking distance. The ancient Mayan city of Tulum is a 90-minute drive and the Mayan archaeological site of Chichen Itza a 2.5-hour drive from the resort. Isla Mujeres can be reached within approximately one hour.
