IHG Hotels & Resorts will open its third Vignette Collection property in Thailand in 2024 with the rebranding of Emerald Resort Koh Chang to Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection.

Closed since February 2023, the beachfront property is undergoing an extensive renovation before it opens in 2024. This is the second collaboration between IHG and Dinso Resort Co., Ltd. One year ago, Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection successfully converted into IHG’s system. The brand’s trio of Thai properties also includes Sindhorn Midtown Bangkok, Vignette Collection.

Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection will feature 166 rooms and suites and five restaurants and bars as well as a swimming pool, spa and fitness center. It will also offer more than 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Koh Chang is Thailand’s third largest island in the Gulf of Thailand. Popularly known as Elephant Island because of its shape, it is famed for the Koh Chang Marine National Park consisting of dozens of unspoiled islands with snorkeling and diving opportunities as well as pristine beaches and wide range of wildlife living amidst lush rainforests.

Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection is located on the white sandy Klong Prao Beach on the Eastern side of Koh Chang.

“It’s fantastic to be extending our partnership with the Dinso Resort team one year on from our first collaboration in Phuket which saw Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection benefit from IHG’s scale and enterprise quickly,” said Saowarin Chanprakaisi, senior director, Development, South East Asia and Koriea, IHG Hotels and Resorts.

Pattranit Mahattanawisit, managing director, Dinso Resort Co., Ltd. said: “The IHG team has been a great partner through the conversion of Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection and we believe the brand is a great fit for our properties, enabling us to retain the unique experiences and services the hotels provide while benefitting from IHG’s global and local expertise and enterprise.

“Koh Chang is a wonderful destination that enables visitors to enjoy a different type of beach experience, that  is more laidback and relaxing, and far from the bustle of the city. I’m looking forward to debuting the brand in this island destination, introducing more international and domestic travelers to a largely undiscovered gem of Thailand.”
