Marriott Caribbean resorts unveil renos, enhancements

Several of Marriott International’s Caribbean resorts are showcasing new enhancements, renovations and experiences ahead of the 2023/2024 season. Destinations in the spotlight are the Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, Aruba and the Dominican Republic.

CAYMAN ISLANDS

Grand Cayman Marriott Resort has embarked on an extensive renovation of its guestrooms and suites. As part of the project, hotel will reposition its 15 junior suites by completely redesigning the space. New features include a partition to divide the bed and sitting areas for additional comfort and privacy. In addition, four new family guestrooms will feature custom bunk beds.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman (shown top of post) has enhanced its premier sporting facilities with the addition three pickleball courts, bringing the total to five. In addition, tennis aficionados await the unveiling of three new tennis courts, all featuring the innovative Titan Trax surface.

PUERTO RICO

The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is on schedule to reveal an extensive renovation in Fall 2024. The transformation includes the redesign of the resorts guestrooms (wood-look tile floors, clean line furniture, walk-in shower, and chic seating on private balconies) as well as updated public spaces — The Great Rooms, Stellaris Casino and Restaurant.

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is now home to the island’s new destination restaurant for Mediterranean cuisine. Called Mercát, the new dining concept offers curated dishes with fresh ingredients and influences from Spain, Italy, Lebanon, and Greece. The restaurant’s design includes details that evoke Mediterranean charm: arched doorways, painting, carved wood and seamless indoor-outdoor living.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club offers newly refreshed guestrooms, two new restaurants and bars, a lobby transformation, and new additions to its meeting rooms. The renovation includes the unveiling of Brassa, a steakhouse restaurant, and BAO, a Pan Asian-influenced restaurant, as well as the addition of a new dock gazebo on the beach.
