Highgate, a leading hotel management, investment and development company, announces the grand opening of Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa in the heart of Hawai’i’s capital city.

“We are proud to introduce Renaissance Hotels to the island of Oahu with the opening of Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa,” said Jennifer Connell, vice-president and global brand lead, Renaissance Hotels. “In a city buzzing with new and exciting retail, restaurants and more, this is a property and a brand that will not only match the energy and vibrancy of the destination but also support its continued growth by shining a light on the businesses and people that make this neighborhood – and the island overall – such a special place.”

Situated near the world’s largest open-air retail facility, Ala Moana Center, and the island’s coastline, the 39-storey hotel features 187 rooms and suites and 112 residences with panoramic ocean and mountain range views.

Design details in the rooms – hand-crafted wooden furnishings, locally-sourced artworks – reflect the unique spirit of Hawai’i. They also feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows, large bedrooms with soaking tubs, Toto washlets and Aveda bath amenities. Premier residences come fully equipped with kitchens complete with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.

Highgate and TableOne Hospitality, led by restaurateur Patric Yumul, curated the Renaissance Honolulu’s culinary experiences.  The property is home to MARA, a modern 6,700 square-foot restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine prepared with Hawaii’s finest local ingredients and helmed by chefs Michael Ocampo and Franz Wohlrab. The Coral Club Lounge, located on the 15th floor, delivers an ocean view along with breakfast, mid-day refreshments, evening hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. SWAY, the large pool, deck, bar and grill, showcases locally-inspired al fresco dining. Renaissance Honolulu’s grand lobby café features LAMILL Coffee Co., the award-winning Los Angeles-based coffee roaster’s first location in Hawaii.

Wellness is an integral part of the Renaissance Hotels brand’s DNA. At Renaissance Honolulu, the eighth floor Sky Deck is a well-being sanctuary. Amenities include a full-service spa, meditation gardens, fully equipped fitness center with LifeFitness and Peloton equipment, glass-enclosed yoga studio and an outdoor MoveStrong strength training experience. The Uhiwai Spa offers a variety of treatments including massages, facials and more. Guests can also enjoy Oahu’s first traditional Japanese ofuro indoor and outdoor soaking tubs, Himalayan salt saunas, steam rooms and cold plunge baths. And, the outdoor Sky Deck (shown top of post) features a 25-meter lap pool, two hot tubs and a heated saltwater swimming pool surrounded by large, shaded cabanas and BBQ pavilions.

The property also offers four meeting and event spaces across 8,819 square feet: Executive Boardroom, Club Conference Room, Great Lawn and Club Lounge.

Renaissance Honolulu is situated just a mile from the Hawaii Convention Center and seven miles from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL).
