Meliá Hotels International aims to have 34 operational hotels in Cuba by the end of 2023. The opening of Meliá Trinidad Peninsula follows the debut of two hotels in Havana: INNSiDE Habana Catedral and Sevilla Habana Affiliated by Meliá.
INNSiDE Habana Catedral is a 50-room lifestyle hotel located in the city’s Cathedral Square. It features onsite restaurants (Syndeo and The Kitchen Rooftop) and a lobby bar called The Station. It also has a 990-square-foot meeting room that can accommodate up to 108 guests.
Sevilla Habana occupies a prime location in Old Havana, a World Heritage site. It offers 178 guestrooms and a rooftop with views of Malecón, the city’s seaside esplanade. Other amenities include two meeting and event spaces, restaurants and a bar.
On December 15, 2023, Meliá will open Sol Turquesa Beach, located on Yuraguanal Beach in Holguin. It will offer five accommodation categories and seven swimming pools.
From 2024, the hospitality company expects to add three more hotels to its portfolio in Cuba. Properties opening in early next year include the 188-room Hotel Plaza in Havana. It will be The Meliá Collection luxury brand’s first hotel on the island.
